Germany is located in central Europe, bordering several countries, as France, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Czechia, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. It is the perfect country for short trips or city breaks with cities like Berlin, Munich, Heidelberg, Munster, Hamburg, Cologne or even Frankfurt. If you are not a fan of cities, take a look at the Black Forest, the Alps, or the Rhine, there is plenty of lush nature in rural Germany which deserve the travelers discovery.

When to Go

The peak season for travel in Germany starts in May and goes to September. This is also the period when the roads are crowded, specially the famous Autobahn, and accommodation is more expensive.

It is also when the days are longer and the temperature invites to the amazing German beers on terraces.

During winter, urban and cultural life is much more intense, but remember that in December daylight only lasts six to eight hours, and temperatures often drop to negative Celsius.
