Weather

Hungary has three quite distinct climate zones: the south, with a Mediterranean climate; the east with continental climate and the west with atlantic climate. The best time to visit any of them is spring, in April and May, although it rains a lot.

The Hungarian summer is sunny and hot, be aware that it is very crowded, especially in July and August. If you can avoid areas such as Lake Balatón or the Mátra Mountains you should not face crowds. Autumn is beautiful in Budapest and the northern regions.
