Weather
The weather is very unpredictable in Iceland and it is not difficult for a sunny, mild day to turn into a cold, rainy day in a matter of hours. Precipitation is persistent throughout the year, and from September to May turn to snow.
The areas with the most intense geothermal activity are understandably the mildest. The high season goes from mid June to August. But it is possible that some tour operators will only offer activities in the mountain zone from July onwards because of snow.
